I AM PART OF EVERYTHING
910 km on the way to the Ocean

A detail is a perfect handhold for a continuous research of something.
You need to seize and fall in love with a detail.
A detail is a game made of Rational perfection and instinct while walking for kilometers, with effort and love in your eyes.
The detail has been the research of a place beyond tangible geography.
In the long way, step by step, I found My hobby in the selection of abstractions of sketched venues, made Geometrical and transformed: the landscape, thus, acquired a new reality becoming my truth on that place.
Catalogued and apparently not continuous lines, that all together created the book of my travel.
In the details I looked for answers, gambles, clarifications. In the details I found Myself.
Arrived at the last meter with the Ocean in front of me, I finally realised.
“Peregrino, quién te llama? Qué fuerza oculta te atrae?”.
Everything.
The answer is the sum of everything.
“Fragments of the world”
The photographic image is a fragment. The act of taking a photo on its own is a sort of collection, it can be broad, as it is in the wide views, or it can be tiny, as it is in so many images based on little details taken from the reality: it is a firm cut on space and time, done rapidly, we can even say suddenly, made through the elements combined of the framing and of the shutter click. And even if the photographer would like to narrate something, the characteristics of the tool of his work would let him only try to stitch together fragments, scraps found while looking to the big world, the very big world which is in front of him.
The strength of many photographic images is based exactly on this de-contextualization work done by the photographer, either with awareness or spontaneously, almost automatically, or sometimes the two things together.
Even the processes linked to poetry or poetic narrations are based on the concept of fragment and on the ideas of brevity, immediacy, simplicity as key points of a verbal expression which suddenly catches significant elements of reality through few words, some questions or some punctual, little descriptions.
I am amazed by the title of this work, “I am part of everything”, because it means that the authors of this images and of these texts are aware of the fact that the only way in which one can feel himslef to be part of the world is to understand that we are only fragments of it, single parts of a whole.
And they know that communication, knowledge, the narration itself can be obtained only through a partial set of little parts, the ones which from time to time we manage to catch and we can choose and hold.
The project is presented as a sequence of moments collected during the journey, an important symbolic research journey; moments that highlight details and parts of the landscape, schematizing it in a certain sense, but underlying its peculiarity. Images and texts are intertwined, alternating each other, perceptive and emotional tips appear, almost following a pattern and already-existing expressive paradigms, showing the exceptionality of an experience.
But there is one thing that increases the impression of a human experience that is accomplished while crossing the landscape, an element that indicates the search for a possible order of things, for a logic able to give structure and meaning to an always changing and often mysterious scenario which is disclosed to the traveler: that is geometry, that is to say the attempt to find points of reference in the world of roads, therefore something recognizable, a sort of writing in the things that makes us feeling less alone.
